KWHL - Disasters

For my PowerPoint I studied Typhoons.  The Philippines is the most affected country for typhoons. Philippines have an average of 20 typhoons a year.  Typhoons are caused by dry cold air and warm moist air mixing together.  In some places they are called cyclones and others tropical storms.  Japan is the second most effected country for typhoons. Japan had ten typhoons in two thousand and four.  Typhoons can cause landslides and floods that kill or injure people.
Rose choose to do nuclear power. Nuclear power can cause hair loss, brain damage and other bad things.
Hannah and Brennan did volcanos.  They did different presentations and disagreed on something.  Someone looked it up and Vulcan is the Greek (not roman) god which volcanos are named after.
Here is some other information I picked up, found out, and one thing that I half knew.
Ø  Earthquakes are caused by tectonic plates moving underground and crashing together.
Ø  Twisters can be called dust devils or fire devils
Ø  The eye of the storm is the calm bit in the middle
Ø  Tsunamis can be caused by earthquakes, volcanos and other things
